As the 28th of June 1996 commemorates the memory of the fallen victims of the Abu Salim prison massacre, when over 1200 prisoners were brutally executed; As the 7th April 1976 is also known by Qaddafi order to publicly persecuted and executed Libyan university students who were suspected of opposing the regime (The same month of the same year also commemorates Qaddafi’s physical liquidation campaign against Libyan dissidents inside and outside Libya), today the 17th of July is recognized as another day that witnessed some of the worst abuses of human rights in Libyan history.
17th of July, 1998 is another day that commemorate one of the many atrocious days that Libyans lived under the regime of Gaddafi. On the 17th of July, over 400 children in the El-Fatih Children’s Hospital in Benghazi – the City that was often collectively chastised and punished for its opposition to Gerr-dafi’s regime – were injected with HIV. Five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian intern were accused of infecting them on purpose and the regime put them on a ‘’show’’ trial and sentenced them to death. But there was an international objection and outcry about the trial and eventually the medical workers were released and flied out of Libya under the conditions the regime till this very moment did not talk about. Of course the families of the tragic children have never received justice. Again, Gaddafi’s regime viciously violated human rights and got away with it. At that time Britain, the US and other countries- hypocrite as they are, for now these are the very same governments that are pretending their lame care to ‘’protect’’ Libyan civilians inside Libya- turned a blind eye to disgusting domestic excesses committed by Gerr-ddafi's regime, as they rush to co-operate over counter-terrorism and invest in the oil-rich north African country. This is such a disgrace; I simply cannot believe that such injustice can be done. But unfortunately that’s the truth, and as they say: ‘’ Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy’’. Gaddafi’s regime didn’t even hit upon a way to appease the families in Benghazi or even remunerate them in a form of humanitarian compensation for their momentous tragedy.
At this time, it was confirmed that Gaddafi’s thugs randomly planted more than 40 thousands mines in Brega, and Gerr-dafi will not even hesitate to use chemical weapons so that the revolutionaries don't get hold of Brega. But don’t worry Gaddafi, ALLAH is upon all of us and have been watching all your evil deeds till this second. The day shall come to pay the price of your crimes in life and Insha Allah soon in hell as well.
My dear Libyan Freedom Fighters all over the world (inside and outside Libya- & big salute our Free Libyans fighter at the war against Gaddafi and his thugs), be aware that Allah can reach each falling tear of a Libyan parent who lost their courageous sons and died honorably as martyrs; Allah see the heart that needs a cheer inside every Libyan child who lost their dear fathers and parents by Gaddafi’s coldblooded regime; and Allah know that the path we are going through is so hard but dear. So, Libyan freedom Fighters everywhere, don't you ever give up, because Allah is near. And you never can tell how close you are to victory; it may be close by when it seems so far, but we all know that only when things seem worst that we must not quit and be in no doubt that Gerr-dafi will be soon ousted & victory will be eventually shouted.
LONG LIVE FREE LIBYA
Do you really believe that over 400 people were infected/injected by HIV on one day? That would be hard to imagine. Also, the "show trial," as you correctly characterized it, should be opened up for investigation. Libyans cannot and should not forget or overlook an important fact about that case: Who presided over the appeal trial that found the medics guilty? And who presided over the Supreme Judicial Council that dropped the sentence and sent the medics home with (then) Madam Sarkozy? It was none other than Mustafa Abdel Jalil, who was hand picked for both jobs. Will we ever get to ask Mr. Abdel Jalil about his role in that theatrical trial, and will we ever get to hear what he and Pres. Sarkozy discussed about that trial? We might, but I can assure you it will not come from the Libyan press, not the one Abdel Jalil controls, anyway. As usual, the best hope for Libyans to see their leaders answer questions about their actions will be the foreign press. I am surprised, however, that Abdel Jalil is not yet pushed to account for his role in the HIV case. Maybe he is getting pushed and compromising behind closed doors, but that would be even worse. If we are to use his unilateral and unjustified concessions to IRA victims as a measuring stick, then the outlook is bleak.
ReplyDeleteThis ghastly crime has too much cords attached to it. Many people don’t know a lot of vital details to solve the twisted riddles surrounded this appalling crime. Whatever the case is, my point will be always pointed towards Gaddafi and his ruthless regime among them all those who defected from his rules, because I am certain that each one who worked under the regime of Gaddafi has blood in his hands of many innocent men, women, and children (among them the loser Shalgam who has a hand in the assassination of my dear father back in 1990). Some badly informed people think that the whole crime wasn’t done in purpose! Now this is real ignorance, for either it was done on purpose (which is insanely impossible) or on purpose, it is still called a horrific crime to inject over than 400 children with AIDS. And as you said we should not keep silent about this crime though it’s highly twisty and many international governments (the western countries) and national one (Gaddafi’s regime)
